Overview
The Internal Communications Specialist will focus solely on internal communications and will help launch a new employee experience app that will help drive communication objectives. This role will monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis.
We are looking for a compelling storyteller who can craft effective communications, deliver impactful messaging and contribute across all GMR companies.
This position works with the GMR Marketing and Communications team, under the guidance of the Corporate Communications Director, to help deliver consistent messaging to all audiences with a focus on internal communications to support the employee base and leadership teams across the organization, developing small to mid-level communications plans and contributing to larger communications initiatives.
Excellent writing and editing skills are essential to the role along with the ability to manage multiple requests at any given time. This person should be hands-on with exceptionally strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports the content creation and deployment of internal communications for all GMR companies and initiatives including conducting interviews and writing content for employee stories, newsletters, announcement, etc.
- Acts as a liaison between the Communications team and functional teams in the implementation of a new employee experience app.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis.
- Responsible for learning all system communications platforms: Blink and Kentico.
- Experience managing and maintaining internal communication tools is a plus (internal email software, employee apps, content management systems, etc.)
Non-Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work with remote team members in different time zones outside of normal business hours.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Licensing/Certification
- 4-year degree in communications, journalism, English or related field.
Experience
- 3-5 years of internal communications experience required.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience working with new communication technology platforms - implementing communication platforms like Blink, FirstUp, Workvivo, Slack, etc. is a plus
- Proven working experience in a communications function required
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong portfolio
- Solid experience writing for a variety of audiences and channels
- Strong organizational skills
- Understands change management as it relates to communications
- Strong creativity, judgment, enthusiasm and customer-service focus are desired
- Ability to learn new platforms including email marketing platforms, content management systems, etc.
