Are you looking for a fantastic career at Essential? We have a great opportunity for an internal auditor, under the direction of the Manager, Internal Audit. The Internal Auditor assists external auditors on financial and benefit audits and performs as part of the audit team on operational audits. The position helps to see that the external audits are completed in a timely manner, while also helping the annual operational audit plan is completed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Performs quarterly financial audits and reviews with the external accounting firm assigned to the audit. Tests data during the audits.
- Performs benefit plan walkthroughs and acts as a liaison between internal clients and external auditors to gather and test data as well as discuss results.
- Executes audits in accordance with the company’s operational audit plan. Performs testing and documentation for assigned financial and operational processes, including planning documents, flowcharts, walkthroughs, and tests of control. Prepares clear, accurate, and well-organized audit work papers that appropriately document the testing performed.
- Assists in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing of financial and IT controls for the annual SOX assessment.
- Assists in any fraud related investigations. Gathers data and prepares and reviews findings with management.
- Assist with other tasks or projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- A minimum of one year of audit experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Excellent spreadsheet skills, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; communicate effectively (clearly, concisely, and professionally) with internal customers.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Must have ability to plan for and work under deadline, especially at year-end.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered multi-tasking environment.
- Travel Requirements up to 10 %
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Perform sedentary work- exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
