Working on the transit facilities structural engineering team at Gannett Fleming means contributing to cutting-edge projects that drive the future of sustainable and efficient transportation. During your internship, you will work on a highly functioning team and aid in providing design services for a wide variety of projects. You'll receive guidance, supervision and mentorship by experienced engineers and professionals with your success as the goal. The majority of our interns convert to full-time employees.
What You'll Be Working On
- Collaborate on real-world railway and transit projects, assisting in design and development.
- Perform detailed structural calculations under supervision of Lead Structural Engineer.
- Coordinate structural design to meet project requirements using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Collaborate effectively with diverse disciplines and assist in field surveys.
- Review and organize structural shop drawings.
- Attend seminars to stay current with industry trends as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in ABET-accredited bachelor’s or master's program in Civil or Architectural Engineering, with emphasis in Structural Engineering preferred.
- Prior internship or coursework experience in structural engineering.
- Familiarity with STADD, Revit, RAMSteel, or equivalents.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and willingness to learn Revit.
- Experienced with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Capable of field inspection activities such as climbing ladders and using man lifts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in team settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in advanced features of software programs such as RAMSteel, AutoCAD and Revit.
