The Corporate Finance Intern will be responsible for supporting the State and Local Tax group, with additional responsibilities in the Planning and Federal group, at our headquarters in New York City.
Requirements:
State & Local Tax (90%) :
+ Assist in gathering and compiling apportionment data to be used in the preparation of State & Local income tax returns.
+ Prepare state income tax return calculations and forms in software for selected state tax filings.
+ Handle administrative tasks associated with state tax filings in 50 jurisdictions, such as mailings, processing payments, copies, scanning, corresponding to notices etc.
+ Assist with quarterly and year-end state income tax provision.
+ Assist with other state projects like planning, automation, research tax law changes, mergers and acquisition, filing short period returns, process improvements, etc.
+ Assist with ad hoc sales and use tax and property tax projects
Federal Tax and Planning (10%) :
+ Assist in compiling and updating data to be used in periodic estimates and US federal income tax return filings
+ Assist in the preparation of pro forma federal income tax returns for entities included in the consolidated US group.
+ Assist in the organizing and drafting of international disclosure statements on US federal income tax return
+ Work with Manager, Tax Planning and Support to develop streamlined subsidiary reporting of corporate transactions
+ Assist with various ad hoc planning projects
+ Work on an Action Learning Project (ALP) to be assigned at the beginning of the internship and present results at the end of the internship
Qualifications:
+ Current or recent student pursuing a graduate degree in Accounting or Tax
+ Proficient in Google Suite
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
+ Exposure to the area of tax and OneSource tax software a plus
+ Excellent organizational and analytical skills
+ Ability to work in a collaborative environment
Compensation
Salary Range $30.00/hr - $40.50/hr USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location.
