Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Mechanical Reliability position in Homewood, Il from May– Aug 2025.
Job Summary
The Intern, Mechanical Reliability is responsible for providing support to the Mechanical department by preparing calculations and reports while gaining experience with engineering systems. The incumbent integrates tracking plans, performs analysis of mechanical design choices, and carries out other projects as assigned. The role contributes to project leadership and oversees the project portfolio.
Major Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Mechanical department
- Assist in preparing calculations and reports
- Provide assistance in integrating tracking plans
- Participate in performing analysis of mechanical design choices
- Interact with project teams
- Assist with coordination of on-site activities
- Support the creation and modification of Computer Aided Design (CAD) models
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Notes
- Knowledge of reporting software such as Tableau and SmartSheet
- Communicates with impact
- Completes work autonomous with accountability for assigned tasks
- Knowledge of Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) and ARIBA*
Education
- Recent Graduate or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
*Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
