ABS Group is seeking successful Intern candidates who will work on a dynamic digital team comprised of programmers, data scientists, and domain experts to meet fast-paced project requirements. This role will be responsible for supporting the digital team in the development of data science solutions and digital applications for improved efficiency, task automation, enhanced analytics, and data visualization.
Working Schedule
The preferred candidate for this position should be located in the Knoxville, TN area and open to work a hybrid schedule with three (3) days in the ABS Office located in Knoxville, Tennessee, and two (2) days of remote work.

This position reports to the Senior Program Manager.
Notice:
This position requires access to information that is subject to control by the Export Administration Regulations and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Any offer of employment shall be contingent upon the Company's verification that the candidate is a "U.S. Person" or upon the receipt of all necessary export licenses or authorizations that may be required by U.S. export control laws. "U.S. Persons" are defined as U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents (i.e., "green card" holders), or any individual granted protected status under the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)), including asylees and refugees. What You Will Do:
- Work with functional representatives to develop use cases, requirements, and business logic for digital applications.
- Develop digital applications to support business needs, including efficiency and automation.
- Develop solutions to extract, transform, and load unstructured data for further analysis using Python, R, and other languages.
- Develop interactive dashboards using Power BI and Tableau.
- Assist in generating analytical results.
- Participate in key technical meetings and workshops.
Education and Experience
- Current students majoring in a highly analytical field of study such as engineering, computer science, data science, or a related field.
- Experience using common coding languages to develop applications.
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and perform assigned tasks with minimal guidance.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel.
- Superior interpersonal and written/oral communications.
- Familiarity with basic data science techniques such as machine learning.
- Familiarity with quantitative analysis techniques including statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle phases of requirements, design, build, and test.
- Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, safety, quality, and environmental management systems.
