At EFW, our Intern, IT Desktop Support department is a vital part of our organization. This internship program is an opportunity for undergraduates to contribute to EFW’s mission while developing valuable professional skills. The ideal candidate will learn the industry through the lens of EFW. As part of the internship, EFW will provide learning experiences throughout the organization so that the intern truly understands IT Desktop Support within transportation and logistics.

- Contribute to special projects in support of IT initiatives.
- Support IT Desktop Support and department leadership with administrative duties, such as reports and documentation.
- Responsible for the routine maintenance and support of the standard hardware/software technology in use at the company. This could range from configuring and moving a workstation to inputting data into local operational processes, like PC inventory, to escalating a technical issue to a more senior tech within the team.
- Work independently on tasks and service requests but get active guidance from more senior technical resources within the location team.
- Assist in technical upgrading and maintaining of entire desktop systems.
- Install, configure, test, monitor, and make minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provide technical assistance and training to system users.
- Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring desktop operations.
- Effectively support our technology to ensure productivity of associates as they work in turn to serve our external customers.
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or emails regarding desktop problems.
- Track distribution and disposition of desktop peripheral equipment and software.
- Support and promote company core values.
- Must be able to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays based upon business need.
- Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION
Position functions with supervision and has no direct reports.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience. A rising junior or senior in a 4-year college degree program (Business and/or Logistics preferred). A history of achievement and aptitude demonstrated by a 3.0 GPA, and/or other recognition such as scholarships, awards, and honor societies. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
