Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the Human Resources function at our Sturgeon Bay, WI shipyard. Significant heavy manufacturing takes place both in several fab shops, as well as on the waterfront across our vast, 63-acre facility. The successful candidate will support the 1,000 working men and woman on our waterfront by passionately pursuing innovative and effective safety solutions that focus primarily on employee wellbeing, manufacturing efficiency and environmental awareness
Detailed Description:
* Provide general support of the HR department.
* Performs related duties in support of the human resources function, in a primary or backup capacity.
* Handles and maintains personnel files, forms and database information associated with personnel, benefits, attendance, and general information and recruiting.
* Maintain plan and office bulletin boards in an up-to-date and legal compliance manner.
* Ability and willingness to engage in highly energetic pursuits on the waterfront.
* Maintain a commitment to and promote the Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety Policies.
* Abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
* Assists in the entry of status change forms for all employee changes
* Assists in validation of labor collection of all employees and contractors
* Assists in the creation and completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.
* Assists in the auditing of T&A agency invoices and resolves any discrepancies.
* Additional projects as assigned.
* Ability and willingness to engage in highly energetic pursuits on the waterfront.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Recently graduated or enrolled in a university or college with a goal of achieving a Human Resources degree.
* Strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
* Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to work well under pressure
* Ability to be self-directed and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Active listening skills
Desired Qualifications:
* Bilingual language skills (oral & written) a plus
* Experience in ADP is beneficial
* Knowledge of HR Policy and Procedure beneficial.
* Knowledge of Employment Law (EEO, ADA, AA, FMLA, etc.) beneficial.
* Knowledge of Labor Union Relations beneficial.
* Industry experience beneficial, but not necessary
