The Position
We are seeking an intermediate-level Landscape Architect/Designer with 3-8 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively convey design concepts to clients and colleagues. You will be responsible for preparing design presentations, site analyses, project diagrams, and cost estimates while coordinating with consultants and subconsultants. A commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work within project budgets and scopes is essential. You will manage multiple projects, independently handle tasks, and mentor junior staff while contributing to team collaboration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite is required, with knowledge of LandFX, Revit, GIS, SketchUp, Lumion, and 3DS Max considered a plus. Job Duties:
- Participate in or lead project meetings with clients, design teams, and contractors, and communicate as appropriate.
- Assemble design presentations with imagery, drawings, renderings, and narratives.
- Conduct site analyses and prepare project diagrams, ensuring adherence to company standards and design excellence.
- Develop safe, constructible, budget-friendly designs that exceed client expectations.
- Coordinate with HDG staff and consultants to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Research materials and plants to produce schedules and cost estimates for hardscape and planting designs.
- Observe construction sites, produce field reports, and review/edit work for accuracy.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, working independently while seeking guidance when necessary.
- Anticipate and resolve potential project challenges, and mentor junior staff members.
- Present design ideas confidently to clients and engage in networking to build client relationships and explore service opportunities.
