Job Description
Do you have a desire to help the world's best Naval fleet? Are you interested in a dynamic work environment while learning how the steam and reactor plants operate? A position as a Intermediate Chemist and Chemical Engineer in the Steam Plant Chemistry team is for you! This position is for a fleet support engineer to provide support of steam plant chemistry and cleanliness issues across the entire nuclear fleet.
In this role you will:
• Solve problems associated with cleanliness control in Naval nuclear steam plants.
• Perform trials, tests, and/or experiments to support engineering, production, and/or R&D activities.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources such as experiments and studies.
• Develop technically and economically sound recommendations and prepare comprehensive documented observations, analyses, and interpretations of results and establish operating equipment specifications.
• Develop and recommend new processes and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, has an attention to detail, is able to evaluate data to draw conclusions about chemistry trends, and is able to multi-task within a fast-paced environment supporting the Navy.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
Preferred Skills
Proficiency at reading fluid system drawings, ability to work in a cross-functional and cross-site team, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong performance record of leading complex work efforts to a successful and timely conclusion.

Pay Range
Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
