Staff Accountant responsibilities:

Reconcile vendor accounts and statements.
Receive, review, and verify invoices and check requests.
Sort, code, and match invoices.
Set invoices up for payment and enter and upload invoices into the system.
Track expenses and process expense reports.
Compare purchase orders, prices, payment terms, and other charges with incoming bills.
Verify outgoing checks against accounts payable records.
Conduct general ledger and account reconciliation and analysis.
Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure all bills and payments are recorded accurately.
Perform bank reconciliations and update bank records daily.
Post monthly accrual journal entries, manage fixed assets, and record depreciation.

Qualifications for Staff Accountant:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Knowledge of accounting processes and advanced mathematical skills
Skilled in using various accounting software and experience in troubleshooting common accounting program problems
