Interim Senior Counsel (Commercial) - Major, Lindsey & Africa

Major, Lindsey & Africas Interim Legal Talent group is seeking, on behalf of our corporate client, to identify a commercial attorney with energy experience to work on a part-time, temporary basis for a Houston, TX based client. Hours will start around 15-25 per week and could expand from there.

Overview

Interim Sr. Counsel (Commercial)

Company: Green Energy Technology Company

Experience: 5+ years experience

Location: Hybrid / Houston TX

Responsibilities:

• Advise and support on all commercial contracting for, primarily, a green methanol project in Louisiana.
• Draft commercial contracts and finance documents as needed.
• Review and provide legal advice on commercial contracts.
• Manage and negotiate, together with the commercial teams, all contracts.
• Provide legal support on intellectual property matters as needed.
• Handle together with direct report, external counsel as needed.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• Active bar membership in good standing.
• 5-8 years of experience in project finance and commercial contracting, preferably within the energy sector.
• Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents.
• Strong understanding of construction, feedstock and offtake agreements and general commercial contracts.
• Experience with intellectual property law is a plus.
• Energy sector experience, construction projects, energy transactions all a plus.
