Interim Controller (Billing Operations)
Our client, a fast-growing technology company, is seeking an Interim Controller for their Billing Operations team. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and transform the billing function within a rapidly scaling environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to drive process improvements, enhance operational efficiency, and support the billing team’s development. This role requires a hands-on, operational mindset with a focus on scaling processes for growth.
Responsibilities
- Work with senior leadership to support the billings team and drive best practices.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance billing operations' efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage and develop the billing staff, fostering a team culture that embraces new systems and processes.
- Prepare and present regular reports on billing activities to senior management.
- Conduct audits and reconciliations of billing records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate and implement billing software and systems to improve operational efficiency.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Billing Operations, with a focus on Revenue Operations in a tech environment.
- Experience with various billing platforms, especially SFDC CPQ (Rev Right is a plus).
- Strong understanding of billing, AR, and collections processes in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
- Highly operational and hands-on, with a startup mentality focused on process improvement and scalability.
- Experience in the software or tech industries preferred.

- Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing teams.
- A customer-centric personality with a curiosity-driven, process-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working in agile, less-structured environments.
