Job Overview
In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and our VP of Hospital Financial Operations to lead and oversee all aspects of financial planning and operations. This includes ensuring our financial practices align with our mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives while complying with relevant laws and regulations.
Your responsibilities will encompass assessing our financial position, managing revenue cycles, payroll, accounting practices, and ensuring robust financial and operational reporting. You'll play a crucial role in financial planning, auditing, tax planning, purchasing, and managing real estate and insurance matters. Additionally, developing policies and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting principles is key.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all governmental and regulatory requirements, maintaining accreditations and licenses.
Contribute to strategic planning and implement approved plans to foster growth and community service.
Oversee operational and capital budgets, ensuring effective financial controls and resource management.
Drive improvements in financial operations through analysis, problem-solving, and implementing change.
Maintain positive relationships with the financial community, staff, volunteers, and board members, ensuring open and effective communication.
Lead and develop talent within the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Advocate and lead change, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Lead and evaluate the finance team, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence.
Oversee recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
Address and resolve any issues or conflicts within the team, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. CPA designation and/or graduate degree is a plus.
5-7 years of progressive experience in Hospital Finance/Accounting, including CFO roles.
Comprehensive understanding of hospital financial reporting, revenue cycle management, budgeting, and financial operations.
Experience with MEDHOST and Athena is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
Deep knowledge of healthcare finance, accounting, treasury, risk management, and materials management.
Leadership and strategic management skills, with a proven track record in change management and operational improvement.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service orientation.
Critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
