Overview:
DataSoft Technologies, Inc. is seeking several Interface Coordinators for the SRPPF project, with positions focusing on various disciplines including Process/Mechanical, Electrical, CommSec, Piping/Plumbing, HVAC, and Structural. Additionally, we are looking for a Communications & Security Systems Technical Specialist. Preferred locations are Houston and Greenville. Engineers are preferred, but experienced designers and specialists will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Interface Coordination:
- Define and manage interfaces between different components and phases of construction projects (e.g., electrical and mechanical systems).
- Ensure clear communication and coordination among different teams, using regular meetings and collaborative tools.
- Resolve conflicts arising from overlapping work or misalignments.
- Maintain detailed documentation of interface management processes.
- Identify and manage risks associated with interfaces to prevent delays and cost overruns.
- Lead the development and execution of interface management strategies and plans.
- Schedule and lead regular meetings and teleconferences to ensure alignment and enhance information sharing.
- Communications & Security Systems Technical Specialist:
- Oversee development and implementation of various systems including security/surveillance, intrusion detection, access control, networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN), and emergency notification systems.
- Prepare and modify technical specifications, design drawings, and documentation for systems.
- Verify calculations, sketches, and layouts; review supplier drawings and inspect equipment.
- Prepare cost estimates and assist in the development or upgrading of engineering standards and procedures.
- Participate in technical and management training, and assist with departmental standards.
- Provide technical information to design teams, coordinate information flow, and prepare bid summaries.
- Conduct complex specialized assignments and provide technical expertise.
- General:
- 7+ years of experience in interface management, project controls, design, or construction engineering.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction projects.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
- PMP certification and Professional Engineer License are preferred.
- Communications & Security Systems Specific:
- Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in an applicable engineering field with four years of related experience.
- Experience in physical subsystems development including security/surveillance, access control, networking, and communication systems.
- Ability to prepare estimates, check calculations, inspect equipment, and implement training for personnel.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD applications.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Capable of managing complex projects and coordinating across multiple disciplines.
- Technical and business writing skills.
- Basic computer and software skills, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations.
- International project experience and commitment to diversity/inclusion are valued.
- This role requires travel, with mobility greater than 25%.
