Purpose:The Intake Clerk will serve as the central point of contact for arriving to the office. This position involves working directly with clients in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional standards and best practices. Incumbent will greet clients at establishment and determine nature of business.
Responsibilities:- Greet clients and control the flow of clients within the office.
- Conduct eligibility screenings for walk-in clients including asylees, refugees, and immigrants.
- Collect required eligibility documentation for clients being assisted.
- Input client information in accordance with established requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and eligibility criteria.
- Remain up-to-date on case managers’ schedules and set appointments for eligible clients.
- Keep accurate information on the times and dates for all weekly orientations and provide them to eligible clients.
- Conduct follow-up phone calls as required by the contract.
- Perform standard clerical work such as scanning and printing.
- Perform other duties as requested by the CRS Case Management Program Manager or their designee.
Education:
- Associate Degree in related field, or two years of related experience in customer service.
- Strong verbal and phone etiquette.
- Fluent in Haitian Creole and/or Spanish.
Experience:
- Previous work experience and interest in refugee resettlement or other direct social services is desired.
- Cultural sensitivity is essential.
Other Skills:
- Superior written and verbal communication skills are required.
- The successful candidate must be computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word) and internet applications required.
- Fluency in English and Spanish and/or Creole required.
- Excellent customer service skills, interviewing skills, and the ability to connect with diverse population.
- Background check required.
- Level 2 Fingerprint check required.
This is a grant funded position.
