About the Job
The Intake/Assessment Specialist is responsible for gathering treatment information, providing assessment services and developing the client’s Individual Treatment Plan (ITP). The ideal Assessment Specialist candidate has the ability to work with a client base ranging from birth through adulthood and should have a broad theoretical knowledge of child and adolescent development, developmental disabilities and psychopathology. A knowledge of Early Childhood Mental Health concerns is an asset. You will screen requests for mental and behavioral health services. Your main responsibility is to evaluate and complete both the client’s diagnostic assessment and create the client’s Individual Treat Plan. You may provide referral information to ensure the most effective treatment services are provided. The assessment and treatment planning service are generally delivered in an office setting, however there are occasions when services may be offered in the community or by using the telehealth virtual platform.
Compensation: The Assessment Specialists will be paid $130.00 per completed Assessment and Individual Treatment Plan (both).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compiling all essential intake paperwork; scheduling and completing the diagnostic assessment; and creating the client's Individual Treatment Plan.
- Having the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including both clients and co-workers
- Creating and maintaining client records and other documentation; completing and filing clinical reports in a timely manner
- Having excellent communication skills – both verbal and written and have a basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word.
- Scheduling is flexible; however, some evening and weekend availability is required.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work with Ohio LSW; or Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work
- Required current Licensure through the CSWM&FT Board as: Counselor: LPC, LPCC, LPCC-S; Social Worker: LSW, LISW, LISW-S; or Marriage and Family Therapist: MFT, IMFT or IMFT-S.
- Two years (or more) verifiable experience in a mental health setting providing prevention services and or mental health therapy is preferred.
