Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney with a strong background in general liability to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for representing our clients in insurance-related legal matters, defending against claims, and providing expert legal counsel. This is a hybrid position, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work, to provide flexibility and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle general liability cases, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, and negligence claims.
- Conduct legal research, analysis, and case assessments to formulate effective legal strategies.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes when appropriate.
- Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and experts to build strong cases and achieve favorable outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and organized case records and documentation.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a strong focus on insurance defense and general liability.
- Admitted to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and meet billable hour targets.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
