Our law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Permanent Insurance Defense Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance defense and be well-versed in conducting legal research. 1. Conduct extensive legal research and analysis on various insurance defense cases, utilizing a range of legal databases and resources.
2. Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests and responses.
3. Review and analyze medical records, depositions, and other case materials.
4. Coordinate and manage document production and discovery processes.
5. Assist in trial preparation, including the preparation of trial exhibits and witness files.
6. Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts.
7. Maintain and manage case files and documentation in an organized and timely manner.
8. Stay updated on relevant laws and legal procedures pertaining to insurance defense.
9. Assist in the preparation and filing of all court documents, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
10. Provide support in case management, including tracking and meeting deadlines, and coordinating with attorneys and support staff.
Job Details
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in the area of insurance defense.
2. A Paralegal certification or equivalent is required.
3. Proven experience in conducting comprehensive legal research.
4. Strong knowledge of legal procedures and terminology related to insurance defense.
5. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Proficiency in using legal research software and other legal databases.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
9. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and case management software.
11. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
12. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
