Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance defense litigation and will be responsible for providing expert legal representation to our clients in various insurance-related disputes. This role involves extensive legal research, trial preparation, and negotiation of settlements, focusing on achieving favorable outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in insurance defense litigation cases.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
- Prepare for and attend trial, including court appearances and depositions.
- Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants as needed.
- Perform site inspections and document reviews related to cases.
- Manage case files and maintain organized documentation in a paperless environment.
- Utilize cloud-based technology for document management and communication.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in legal practices.
- Jurisdictional eligibility and a valid California Bar License.
- Proven experience in insurance defense litigation and defense litigation.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury, construction, and commercial trucking law.
- Excellent analytical abilities and legal research skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple cases effectively.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Trial experience with a solid understanding of court procedures and trial preparation.
- Proficiency in document management systems and cloud-based technology.
