Insurance Defense/ Construction Defect Attorney

We are searching for an experienced Attorney for our clients insurance defense firm. They represent clients in a wide variety of practice matters including personal injury, premise liability, employment and business law, consumer protection, construction defect, liquor liability and professional malpractice, among others. This is a full time, direct hire position located in downtown Portland.

Qualifications:

• Active Oregon bar license or a from a state of reciprocity.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 2 to 3+ years of experience in defending personal injury, construction defect and/or general insurance matters.
• Experience specializing in Personal Injury, Insurance Defense, Premises Liability, and Construction Defect.
• Conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and appearing in court.
• Understanding of court rules, procedures, and experience with attending trials.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations.
• Work collaboratively with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to achieve optimal case outcomes.

All candidates are also expected to perform the following tasks with minimal instruction:  background checks utilizing public records databases; utilizing online resources such as Westlaw, Lexis, PACER, and court websites; document productions including the conversion of various file types to PDF, redaction of confidential information, and preparation of privilege logs and medical chronologies.
