The position is responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of the agency. This role includes maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial data, handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The bookkeeper also prepares financial reports, tracks client payments, and may assist with budgeting and forecasting. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently are essential in this position.
Salary Range: $50000.00 - $60000.00 per year

Responsibilities
Implement and maintain procedures for the agencys financial records and cash on hand.
Manage the agencys established credit and collection policies and procedures.
Process and manage Agency Bill payables.
Manage and prepare agency operating payables (expenses) and cash flow to vendors according to established company procedures.
Prepare deposits and transfers for the Trust Account.
Manage E-Pay notices and enter data into applicable software system.
Handle direct bill sweep transmittals.
Oversee and process positive pay transactions for the Agency.
Process checks to Clients for return premiums and overpayments.
Process tax payments and ensure legal requirements compliance.
Maintain and audit special accounts (e.g., petty cash, workers compensation, depreciation, and agency transactions).
Facilitate and coordinate premium finance contracts with Third Party.
Prepare journal entries on customer accounts when requested by authorized parties.
Reconcile all Agency accounts (Operating, Trust, General Ledger, and Credit Card).
Prepare and execute the monthly and yearly journal entries for the financial statements.
Establish, prepare, and maintain financial reports. Distribute reports within three days after the end of each month.
Validate financial statement/records for accuracy, completeness, and proper account classification.
Ensure compliance with all accounting systems, procedures, insurance companies, and state regulations.
Respond to internal and external inquiries; research and resolve financial transaction problems.
Assist CSRs with invoicing problems.
Develop and conduct various routine and special audits, research, and correct data to maintain integrity of programs.
Back up for the reception phones.
Performs other functions as assigned by management.
Requirements
QUALIFICIATIONS:
Associates degree in business administration or related field.
1-3 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro.
Knowledge and experience with Epic software a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Possess supportive and responsive manner with internal and external customers.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships.
Maintains confidentiality of all information related to agency finances, clients, customers, employees, carriers, or as appropriate, other
information.
Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
Strong computer and data entry skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other industry-related software programs..
