Ardurra is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer to join our team in the St Augustine, FL location!
Primary Function:
Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer to work on projects related to water and wastewater treatment plants. Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering techniques for a small project or selected segments of a larger project. The incumbent must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.
Primary Duties:
- Develop and review P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and control system architecture.
- Design, develop, and implement control systems for water/wastewater treatment plants.
- Develop and implement process control strategies, including the design of control loops, alarms, and interlocks.
- Prepares technical specifications for review and approval.
- Specify and select instrumentation and control devices for process measurement and control.
- Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers.
- Evaluate vendors’ bids and drawings to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Prepares technical reports.
- Performs field tests & measurements and collects field data as necessary.
- Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 0-3 years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience/advanced degree in engineering).
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, and desire to learn Plant 3D
- In the process to obtain Professional Engineer’s (PE) license.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
