Summary
You will serve as a INSTRUMENT MECHANIC LEADER (EXPERT) in the DEPARTMENT OF NAVY to include work sites of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.

Duties
- You will independently test, troubleshoot, align, repair, and overhaul a variety of major components combined and interrelated with other devices of optical, dimensional, mechanical, and electromechanical instrument systems.
- You will perform various checks using a wide range of testing equipment in order to isolate defective parts and components.
- You will reassemble instrument parts and components into complete end-item systems in accordance with technical requirements and established shop procedures.
- You will build specialized test setups and conduct specified tests, troubleshoot to isolate and replace defective parts, conduct operational tests, align and adjust repaired equipment and complete test data sheets.
- You will report to supervisors on the status and progress of work, nature of work delays and answer questions on overall work operations and problems.
