POSITION SUMMARY
Instructor Aquatics, working as part of the Aquatics team, will deliver world-class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The individual will be responsible forprovidingasafe swim instruction for participants. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

Pay is dependent on 30-minute or 60-minute sessions. The pay for this will be by units.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Always maintain pool safety during swimming lessons; deliver lessons that provide students the best opportunity to acquire skills for their level
- Educate participants on pool rules and enforce rules as required
- Remain current on all CPR, First Aid and other safety certification training
- Report all accidents and incidents to your supervisor immediately using proper forms
- Be visible to members at all times-work towards branch membership retention goals
- Keep daily attendance records and complete level skill sheets
- Be in the water 50-100% of class time
- Communicate with all participants/parents if class is being cancelled and/or rescheduled
- Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans

- Frequently required to sit, reach and must be able to move around the work environment
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and focus
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Listen First within 6 months of hire or an action plan in place
- Swim Lesson Certification
- CPR/AED/LG and First Aid within 30 days of hire, will be enrolled for training
- Strong communication and listening skills are required
