Installer Apprentice - American Air Heating & Air Conditioning

Job Title: Installer Level 1
Department: Installation
Reports to: Operations Manager
Work Hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm (with seasonal hours)
Pay Scale: $18.00/hr (dependent upon experience)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Installer Level 1 to join our team! This entry-level position focuses on the installation of heating and air conditioning systems to company standards, ensuring that every customer receives a high-quality service experience. You will work closely with a team, learning the trade and gaining hands-on experience in HVAC system installation.

Required Qualifications:

• Insurable by the Company insurance carrier
• Valid driver's license
• Willingness to invest time in training seminars and classes
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic safety knowledge of tools and surroundings
• Safe use of ladders
• Compliance with all safety rules
• Ability to use a tape measure
• Reliable with punctual daily attendance
• Dress in a workmanlike manner
• Ability to use a hammer
• Ability to unload/stock supplies and equipment
• Ability to load/unload truck
• Ability to cut and drill holes
• Ability to accurately fill out a daily timecard
• Physically capable of carrying up to 100 pounds
• Ability to insulate ductwork
• Ability to build platforms
• Always needs to be supervised by senior team members
• Strong written and verbal English skills

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Operate company vehicle as required.
• Follow supervisor instructions and complete tasks promptly.
• Report any issues with tools or vehicles immediately.
• Work well with customers, co-workers, and subcontractors.
• Ability to work staggered shifts if necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized truck and job site.
• Always maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Safety Training for tools, ladders, and job site procedures
• Basic vehicle operation
• Stocking and tool checkout procedures
• Ladder safety and setup
• Customer care and job site cleanliness
• Tool usage and material handling
• Basic installation techniques under supervision
• Site preparation and cleanup
• Time management for daily tasks
