Position: Installation Manager - Rockford, IL
Reporting: Director of Customer Support
Department: Service
Summary: Coordinate the installation of company machines at customer facilities, keeping management updated as necessary in connection with progress and significant issues. Collaborate with Company Assembly personnel to understand the assembly and installation process details for each machine from start to end. Communicate frequently with Field Service Techs to evaluate overall installation progress. Interact with Service, Sales, and Project Managers to confirm machine requirements and customer expectations.
Teamwork, technical skills, travelling, planning and priority settings are a must for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Manage each team of service/assembly personnel during every installation
- Schedule and oversee the installation of products while in conjunction with the respective Project Managers to ensure adherence to contract specifications, established policies, and procedures
- Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets
- Negotiate with local contractors for installers, rigging equipment, alignment tools, etc.
- Monitor and manage all safety aspects during installation
- Periodic travel to customer’s facilities may be required
- Keep customers consistently informed by communicating frequently both before and during installations
- Keep the Director of Customer Support, as well as Sales, Assembly, and Service personnel informed on the progress of each installation
- Work with the respective Project Managers in securing the formal signoff & acceptance for each installation
- Other duties as assigned by the department or senior manager
Qualifications & Experience:
- Able to read and comprehend technical information as presented in various manuals or electronic media
- Knowledge of machine tools building/troubleshooting processes: mechanical alignments, assembly of bearings, gears, ball screws, rack/pinions, machine geometry, PLC/NC troubleshooting, heavy material handling
- Knowledge of hydraulic, lubrication and other pressure lines
- Knowledge of electrical components
- Knowledge about coolant and filtration systems
- Knowledge of assembly and detailed mechanical drawings, fluid, and electrical schemes
- Project management & business writing experience
- Able to solve practical problems while managing a variety of dynamic variables
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Education:
- High School diploma required
- Technical degree preferred

- Valid Driver’s License
