Are you a technical leader with a passion for fire safety and a knack for project management?
We're seeking a skilled Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems Lead Technician to join our growing team. This advanced role focuses on leading and executing fire safety projects in the field, ensuring seamless installations and flawless system programming.
In this leadership role, you'll be responsible for:
- Managing fire alarm and special hazard system installations from start to finish, handling project logistics, scheduling, and overseeing crew activities.
- Collaborating with engineers to interpret complex design drawings and blueprints for system layouts.
- Overseeing and performing the installation of fire alarm and special hazard systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and codes.
- Programming fire alarm and special hazards systems, ensuring optimal functionality and life-safety compliance.
- Conducting rigorous system testing and inspections to verify proper operation and identify any potential issues.
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Alarm Test & Inspect, or Special Hazards (or equivalent certification). (We can train the right candidate with a strong foundation!)
- Strong reading, writing, and math skills.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fire alarm system installations and programming.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and meet deadlines.
- Proven leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and guide a team in the field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, clients, and colleagues.
Desired Skills (We can train the right candidate!):
- NICET III Certification in Fire Alarm Systems (a plus!).
- Experience with various fire alarm and special hazard system brands and programming software.
- Strong understanding of fire safety codes and regulations (NFPA 70, NFPA 72).
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Proficient in using hand tools and maintaining a safe work environment.
The Work Environment:
- This position primarily requires working in the field at various customer locations, including construction sites, offices, and commercial buildings.
- The work environment may involve exposure to temperature extremes, noise, dust, and potential electrical hazards.
- The ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pulling, climbing, and working in different positions is essential.
