AG Consulting Engineering, PC a design, engineering and construction management firm headquartered in New York City is looking for an experienced Construction Inspector with underground storage tanks experience.
The position will be located at the Project Team field office in Manhattan, NY
Scope of Work
A Construction Inspector for the upgrade or replacement of underground storage tanks is responsible for overseeing the work in the field relating to upgrading, removing, and replacing underground storage tanks. The inspector will work closely with site project managers, contractors, NYCDDC and its client agencies, to ensure that the work is conducted safely and in compliance with the contract documents and relevant regulations.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that all necessary permits and approvals have been issued.
- Site investigation: Assess the site to identify potential hazards, communicate the hazards, and oversee reduction or removal of the hazards.
- Site Supervision: Oversee the work, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with established protocols.
- Quality control and documentation: Inspect and document the progress and quality of the work and provide reports using AECOM-provided daily report forms. Ensure that the work is performed in compliance with the contract documents. Keep detailed records and report all activities, including photographs, new equipment labelling, etc.
- Regulatory compliance: Provide visiting regulatory agency staff with information as requested.
- Communication and coordination: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the work.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines related to underground storage tank work.
- Experience in project management and overseeing underground storage tank upgrade, removal, and replacement projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential issues during the removal process.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency in using computer software and tools for data analysis and documentation.
