Job Summary: The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for managing sales activities, developing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth through effective sales strategies. This position requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual with a deep understanding of the CPG and cannabis markets, as well as a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves managing retail account relationships, developing and executing sales strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Retail Account Management:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with retail accounts, including grocery chains, specialty stores, and online retailers, to drive product placement and maximize sales opportunities.
Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and increase market share, leveraging market insights, consumer trends, and competitor analysis.
New Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting potential retail partners, conducting sales presentations, and negotiating contracts to secure new accounts.
Promotional Planning:
- Collaborate with marketing teams to plan and execute promotional campaigns, product launches, and in-store activations to drive brand awareness and boost sales.
Forecasting and Reporting:
- Analyze sales data, track performance metrics, and generate sales forecasts to inform decision-making and optimize sales strategies.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Provide superior customer service to retail partners, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction to foster long-term relationships and loyalty.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, supply chain, and finance teams to align sales efforts with business objectives and ensure seamless execution.
Market Analysis:
- Monitor market trends, consumer preferences, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for product innovation, differentiation, and market expansion.
Trade Show Participation:
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and events to showcase products, network with key stakeholders, and identify partnership opportunities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience in inside sales, account management, or a related role within the consumer packaged goods industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions and negotiate effectively.
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing market dynamics.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset and a passion for driving results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in inside sales, account management, or related roles within the consumer-packaged goods industry.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
