Description
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for successfully providing excellent customer service and building effective relationships with current and prospective customers across the dealership.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from cold calls, newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other internal and external sources.
- Uses a call plan to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor, by phone, or via internet.
- Maintain accurate customer account information
- Maintain a call list
- Generate maximum profitability with customer lists and walk-in traffic
- Maintain knowledge of all product lines and understand marketing programs to ensure effective representation
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, in person, over the phone, and in writing to exceed customer expectations and needs
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Assist in implementing department marketing programs designed to increase customer awareness of existing equipment, service needs, and provide information concerning the availability of products
- Build and maintain effective relationships within the Riggs organization and with client base
- Continued education/training on equipment product lines offered by Riggs
- Responsible for long-term satisfaction of customers
- Attend trade shows to promote product and Riggs
- Assist in lead generation and qualification of those leads
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, and sometimes develop alternative solutions;
- Ability to work in group problem solving situations
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations and responds promptly to customer needs.
- Ability to speak or communicate clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations – Bi-lingual a plus!
- Demonstrated group presentation skills and willingness to participate in meetings.
- Ability to set and achieve ambitious goals, demonstrate persistence and overcomes obstacles, and self-measure against standard of excellence.
- Respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; Promotes a harassment-free environment.
- 1-5 Caterpillar or Competitor Sales Experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver license and clean driving record.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Employee must be able to lift 25 lbs of force occasionally and 10 lbs of force frequently.
The employee is rarely exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.

This is an inside sales role with minimal overnight travel expected.
