SureStaff is partnering with a client who is seeking an Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative located in Bloomingdale, IL. The Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative is responsible for performing functions to provide customer service to promote goodwill and improve sales activities. - Provide sales and customer service support by managing daily customer/prospect calls/e-mails, price quoting, processing orders, modify existing orders or cancel orders in accordance with standard procedures, order status, expediting deliveries/tracking deliveries, providing minor technical (drawings) support and resolving complaints or problems.
- Able to handle disruptions to daily schedule, fast-paced environment, high volume of customer activity.
- Coordinate with plant personnel - visit plant area to check order status and quality issues.
- Receive product inquiries. Provide routine pricing based on a price structure. Prepare and deliver routine quotes. Refer engineered (complex make-to-order) projects to manager for quoting.
- Trained to exercise judgment within pricing guidelines.
- Assign returned goods authorizations for all products returned, triggering the QC/NCR processes.
- Fulfill, track, and follow-up on sample requests by prospects and customers.
- Maintain and update records of phone/e-mail communications, sales activities, quotations, customer profiling, etc., in the ERP and CRM systems.
- Interpret customer requirements from written or verbal inquires.
- Keep up-to-date on new products and manufacturing/administrative processes.
- Complete all paperwork and maintain all files associated with position.
- Participate in performance improvement measures and tasks. Recommend improvements.
- Determine possible changes to standard products and services to meet customer requirements.
- Arrange for consultations with customers when necessary. Follow-up for product sales.
- Maintain satisfactory attendance.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
- High school or college graduate with 2 - 3 years of experience as an inside sales and customer service representative in the manufacturing industry.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and conversions.
- Ability to read and interpret technical/engineered drawings.
- Experience with Windows, MS Office, CRM tools and an MRP/ERP system. Ability to train and certify within these applications.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interact with customers, post-finishing vendors and employees in a calm professional manner.
- Stamina to work all assigned hours.
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending and twisting frequently during the workday.
- Ability to move and handle 25 pounds items occasionally during the workday.
- Exposed to manufacturing environment; dust, noise and heat
