Inpatient Pharmacist
PRN with weekends
Rock Island, Moline, and Bettendorf
Under the general direction of the Manger Pharmacy Inpatient Operations the Pharmacist evaluates physician orders for appropriateness, completes order verification, monitors medication effectiveness and safety, validates products prior to dispensing and assists with inventory management. The Pharmacist will provide patient care services and also serve as a resource for drug information to the medical and nursing staff. Responsible for oversite of Pharmacy Technicians working under the direction of the Pharmacist.

Responsibilities:
- Reviews medication orders and patient profiles for drug/drug and drug/allergy interactions and therapeutic duplications.
- Makes recommendations to providers and documents interventions.
- Participates in monitoring medications for safety and effectiveness.
- Perform medication verification as required by law.
- Oversee technician preparation of medication orders including hospital compounded medications.
- Participates in product selection, procurement and receiving of pharmaceuticals.
- Provides medication related education and information to providers.
Education:
- B.S. Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Experience:
- Appropriate pharmacy setting experience preferred, but not required.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Must be licensed or obtain licensure to practice Pharmacy in Iowa and Illinois within six months of employment. Must be directly supervised by a licensed pharmacist until Pharmacist license is obtained. *IL State License will be reimbursed by UnityPoint Health*
