About the Role
The Inpatient Behavioral Health Director is an active management position with administrative oversight of the Substance Use Disorder Program, Behavioral Intervention Specialist Program, and Admissions/Intake. This role consistently supports compliance and the principles of responsibility by maintaining the privacy and confidentially of patient information, supervision of clinical supervisors, program manager(s), and support staff. The Director will actively support their team by engaging with and providing frontline guidance to staff, while also managing administrative functions to ensure that programs and projects progress effectively to best service residents.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of clinical professionals who are responsible for the delivery of healthcare services and compliance of industry and standards of an adolescent residential treatment center.
- Supervising the Clinicians and Clinical Supervisors on matters related to staffing schedules, personnel issues, compliance, and ensuring the client service data is properly documented in an EMR system and is of a quality that meets medical necessity standards.
- Maintaining responsibility for all programming audits to ensure compliance and operational standards are met.
- Planning, designing, developing, and directing a comprehensive, interdisciplinary and compassionate residential substance abuse program for male and female adolescents, ages 13 to 18.
- Working in collaboration with the Tribes and government entities in the admissions of applicants for inpatient services ensuring all health information gathered supports ASAM 3.5 admissions and medical billing standards.
- Ensuring all clinical services are evidenced based and trauma-informed and focused on cultural needs.
- Planning and facilitating the BH operations meetings to ensure that all supervisors and managers are working in accordance with the Healing Lodge’s mission, supporting the Strategic Plan, following the Department’s operational goals and objectives, and meeting performance deliverables.
Qualifications
- Active Washington State Department of Health Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) license, with requirements met to serve as a Clinical Supervisor.
- Master’s degree in health and/or related field from an accredited university and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of progressively advanced work experience in adolescent substance use and addiction within youth residential treatment, social services, or behavioral health agencies at the director level, providing direct program administration and staff supervision.
- Demonstrated high level of emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to effectively manage a diverse staff.
- Direct work experience with American Indian/Alaska Native population and Indian Tribes, preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of adolescent residential treatment compliance standards involving State, Federal, Indian Health Services, and the CARF and/or Joint Commission accreditation.
- Must maintain a valid, unrestricted Washington State Driver’s License for travel and the use of agency/GSA vehicles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $109,865 - $139,963 per year. The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations offers a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage (with 100% of the employee premium covered), 11 paid holidays, 20 days of PTO per year, a 403(b) Thrift Savings Plan with employer match, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability insurance.
Work Environment
This position is located fully onsite in Spokane Valley, Washington. This position does not allow for remote work or telecommuting.
