Job Summary and Qualifications
Behavioral characteristics: · Enthusiastic positive attitude and exercises good judgment, dependable and maintains good attendance · Effective communicator, mentally alert, reliable, conscientious, tactful, flexible, and cooperative · Possesses integrity, uses good judgment · Has the ability to function well in stressful situations · Demonstrates commitment, safety, honesty, integrity and compassion · Ability to work and communicate with all patients, family members, physicians and employees · Works with minimal supervision, displaying good judgment, self-motivation, initiative, and organization skills · Demonstrates behaviors that are relative to the HCA Mission and Values Statement: “We act with absolute honesty, integrity and fairness in the way we conduct our business and the way we live our lives.” Position responsibilities: · Handles incoming and outgoing communications for the Infusion Center pleasantly, concisely, and accurately · Acts as a receptionist · Know existing lines of communication and departmental staffing structure · Responsible for keeping charts up to date; i.e., lab reports, obtaining new and old records, orders office supplies weekly, obtains nursing supplies daily · Works cooperatively with the nursing staff to provide accurate transcription of Doctors’ orders · Process requisitions and forms to other departments as directed by the Director · Assists with completing patient charge slips · Assist in making out records and reports · Participates actively in in-service education programs concerning the Infusion Center secretary · Assists in the coordination of services and supplies for the Infusion Center, maintains adequate inventory control based on appropriate par levels (i.e. maintains appropriate supply on non-charge carts.) · Sets up post-procedure clinic or doctor appointments for patients
· Runs copy completed labs and places in patient’s chart for physician review · Assists in training others on order entry system · Performs efficiently with CPCS. Maintains ongoing training and proficiency with CPCS · Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department · Keeps nursing station organized and cleaned · May also assume the duties of a Patient Care Technician as needed · Attend Code of Conduct training course annually · Demonstrate an understanding of and adherence to HCA’s Code of Conduct · Demonstrates conduct that is reflective of THRH’s commitment to HCA’s Code of Conduct · Adheres to the Standards of Behavior for Terre Haute Regional Hospital as per the Customer Relations Policy
What qualifications you will need:
Essential educational/licensure, skills and experience: · Minimum of one year of healthcare clerical support experience · Computer literacy & intermediate experience in all Microsoft Office · Above average communication skills in all forms · Ability to multi-task with prioritizing and meeting deadlines · Ability work in a fast paced environment while maintaining composure · Current BLS certification Valued but not required educational/licensure, skills and experience: · Associates Degree or currently enrolled
