Overview: Our client is looking for an Infrastructure Solutions Architect for a HYBRID position based out of Richmond, VA.
Responsibilities:
- Seeking an experienced senior level GIS Solution Architect/Developer to work with IT infrastructure, database, middleware and business teams to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex applications and design technical geospatial solutions.
- Design and develop GIS Web applications that addresses the most challenging business, technology, and systems integration needs.
- Perform hands-on GIS application design, programming, implementation, and support for GIS related projects and activities.
- Manage spatial components of VDOT's custom Linear Referencing System, to include work in Oracle Spatial functions.
- Perform complex integrated programming, spatial data analysis, and application development including maintenance and future enhancements of existing systems.
- Recommend optimal approaches and develop GIS solution designs.
- Oversee architectural designs for VDOT spatial systems, new system deployments, and associated integrations.
- Full ability within the ArcGIS Desktop suite, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and associated add-ins, extensions, etc.
- Write and manage Python scripts for GIS ETL needs, data transformations, and syncing between databases/systems.
- Create and maintain server object extensions for enhanced spatial functionality to include custom linear referencing capabilities.
- Work on a variety of new and existing .NET/GIS projects, develop custom GIS applications, as well as enhance and maintain existing applications using ESRIs JavaScript 4.X API.
- Perform production support/incident management where troubleshooting is required to determine root cause of outages in the environment, that could stem from various factors, such as storage, network, data, etc. and correct hazards to prevent future recurrence.
- Create, consume, and manipulate ArcGIS Server REST services.
- Work in a matrixed environment with various teams and stakeholders within the organization.
- Work with both the business side and IT side of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Be able to work with IT infrastructure, database, middleware and business teams to troubleshoot complex application problems.
- Experience working in an Agile sprint environment.
Requirements:
- 10 Years Custom GIS application development using JavaScript and .NET.
- 10 Years Development of middleware applications to enhance business workflows.
- 8 Years Experience in developing and maintaining custom Linear Referencing System solutions for a larger enterprise.
- 8 Years Writing, maintaining, updating 2.x and 3.x Python for GIS ETL processes.
- 8 Years Experience in installing, configuring, and administering ArcGIS Enterprise deployments.
- 8 Years Proficiency in spatial data development using Oracle and SQL Server, including Oracle Spatial.
