This needs to be someone with a degree and at least 3-5 year construction management experience preferably within Data Centers.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages the procurement, deployment and tracking of all network elements within the National Data Center footprint.
- Directs the day-to-day coordination and technical project management of network equipment, including change control, resolution of stake holder issues, schedules and timelines to ensure that implementation is on track for overall project success.
- Assists in the risk assessment, quality, budgeting and scope management of deployment project plans.
- Responsible for the operational inventory of all Data Center equipment to include network, server, related SAN elements and spares.
- Installs, maintains and troubleshoots all Data Center cabling and infrastructure.
- Manages as built drawings, cable running lists, floor designs and records of deployed equipment.
- Supervises the maintenance and repair of all facilities systems and hardware.
- Administer vendor relationship communication latest industry standards, pricing structures, purchase orders, space/power requirements and delivery timelines.
- Interfaces with vendors to maintain, troubleshoot and install related equipment.
- Provides recommendations for contractual agreements on technical services for vendor installation support.
- Manages, monitors and optimizes Data Center power utilization, HVAC utilization and related requirements.
- Maintains and manages Data Center security and ensures procedure compliance.
- Understands and implements equipment based on Telcordia standards.
- Continued focus on streamlining Methods and Procedures relating to Deployment and Implementation.
- Minimal direction required for job duties and high performance.
- Some travel required
- Be available on a 24 x 7 basis
- Bachelors Degree with emphasis in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Three plus years of experience in deployment and installation of switches, routers and servers
- Three plus years of experience in High Speed Data, Voice, IP and Data Networking.
- Knowledge of all aspects of power generation and power distribution including facility and cabinet based PDUs, ATSs, and UPSs.
- Diverse knowledge of HVAC dynamics.
- Proven experience to effectively plan project installations and forecast infrastructure growth - including ordering supplies, maintaining inventory control, and documenting processes,
- Basic knowledge of all current types of networking and server hardware.
- Demonstrated experience documenting policies and procedures.
- Proven analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities.
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work with vendors, employees and management.
- Effective leadership skills to resolve conflicts and retain high morale.
- Good personal computer skills.
- Ability and willingness to adapt and accept change with strong decision-making skills to complete project successfully.

- Solid technical skills relative to High Speed Data and Voice network engineering, planning and management including experience with IP routers, switches and CMTS equipment.
- Advanced understanding of the IP protocol suite (e.g. ARP, IP, TCP, DNS, SNMP).
- Strong grasp on server administration (i.e. Unix, Linux and Windows platforms).
- Strong understanding of AC/DC power configurations and HVAC related thermal architecture.
- Data Center planning and engineering.
- HFC and 2-way RF outside plant engineering (i.e. RF modulation schemes).
- Solid abilities using Microsoft Office
- Proven analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
