About the Role
The Infrastructure Business Development Manager is a commercial and at times, technical resource that is focused on the Rockwell Automation portfolio of automation products and services that are available to customers, and engineering firms involved in public and private infrastructure work in our Rockwell authorized territory of New York City, Long Island, parts of Upstate New York, Central and Northern New Jersey.
The focus of the position will be to provide support to internal and external customers and stakeholders working on infrastructure projects in the aforementioned regions to increase Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation market share. The targets are primarily in the areas of variable frequency drives (VFD’s,) motor control centers (MCC’s,) and programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) or programmable automation controllers (PAC’s.) This support will include providing technical knowledge in the use of these products and will act as a liaison between the customer, engineering firms, and the vendor.
In addition, the role will include education of internal and external customers through webinars and on-site interactions on an as-needed basis. These presentations will provide customers with information about new and existing products and services, and the benefits of including them in the projects they are working on.
Knowledge of the local infrastructure market and competitive landscape will be the goals of the role to provide a more focused solution to the customers and opportunity.
This is a remote position with travel required in the New York/New Jersey area.
What You'll Do
Sales Leadership
- Annual growth planning and execution including targets, competency, and future investments.
- Lead overall business focus and performance around the Infrastructure business.
- Manage complexity, regularly overcome objections, and adapt to change.
- Manage business with discipline.
- Recognize what is best for customer and business needs.
- Inspire, influence, lead and communicate across a diverse team of automation sales and technical resources.
- Customer-centric business advocate
Technical
- Serve as commercial and strategic expert around our Infrastructure business and continuously build competency within your team and supporting teams.
- Ability to translate customer's industrial business drivers into automation solutions and articulate unique value of our Industrial/Manufacturing/Infrastructure portfolio.
- Lead the business development and understand the technical acumen of our industrial industry customers.
Marketing
- Analyze market conditions, develop an annual business plan and coordinate its implementation.
- Understand market conditions, competitive forces, determine market share, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop and implement strategies to attack competition and grow market penetration.
- Work with multiple partner relationships while achieving target outcomes.
- Commercially and technically articulate Turtle’s value proposition in the Industrial/Manufacturing/Infrastructure and solutions arena.
- Work with our marketing department to administer and implement marketing programs and product launches for Turtle’s Industrial/Manufacturing/Infrastructure and solutions business.
Who we are Looking For
- 4-year degree or equivalent professional experience in technical or sales disciplines is required.
- 3+ years of sales or technical experience in Industrial Automation, Construction, or Engineering fields.
- The ideal candidate will have exposure to all levels and connectivity of the Purdue Model (Field Devices to ERP). Platforms including but not limited to: Variable Frequency Drives, Motor Control centers, Intelligent Power, PLC, as well as HMI/SCADA software
- Ability to influence and guide team members when required.
- Proven self starter with a track record of market development and program execution experience
