About the Job
The Audio-Visual and Conference Room Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and supporting audio-visual solutions for conference rooms and situation rooms. This position requires demonstrated technical expertise and relevant engineering certifications, particularly focusing on audio-visual equipment such as Microsoft Surface HUB and PolyCom. The Engineer will be responsible for supporting Teams and Zoom collaboration technologies, troubleshooting technical issues, managing projects and vendors, and adhering to ITIL principles. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and coordination.
Technical Expertise:
- Demonstrated technical experience in audio-visual solutions.
- Possession of relevant engineering certifications, particularly in audio-visual and conference room equipment.
- Experience in implementing audio-visual solutions for conference rooms and situation rooms.
- Proficiency in supporting Teams and Zoom collaboration technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Project management expertise.
- Vendor management capabilities.
- Familiarity with ITIL principles and Service-Now.
Software Development:
- Hands-on experience in various programming languages including Bash, PowerShell, Java, Groovy, NodeJS, Python, Go, and C#.
- Fundamental knowledge of operating systems, including Linux and Windows.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Basic understanding of computer networking concepts such as DNS and Active Directories.
- Knowledge of JSON and YAML data constructs.
DevSecOps Tools:
- Experience with DevSecOps tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, Checkmarx, AWS Codepipeline, SAST, and DAST.
- Understanding of Git workflows.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development using Groovy (Jenkins) or AWS CodePipeline.
- Knowledge of Source Control Management systems including Bitbucket, GitHub, SVN, TFS, VCCS, and Endevor.
Cloud:
- Knowledge of AWS CloudFormation templates, Boto3, EC2, Lambda, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, SQS, SNS, Systems Manager, S3, Service Catalog, ECS/EKS Fargate, Kinesis, VPC, etc.
- Understanding of Cloud Networking.
- Experience with AWS multi-region deployments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a plus.
Containers:
- Understanding of container orchestration platforms such as AWS Elastic Container Services (ECS) or Kubernetes.
- Experience in building docker images and docker build pipelines.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an integrated team environment.
- Self-motivated with a desire to continually learn about new cloud and DevSecOps technologies.
