POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
INFORMATION TEHCNOLOGY TECHNICIAN II
OBJECTIVES
- To install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Information Technology (IT) systems, VoIP Phone System, and standalone hardware and software. Provide network access to hardware and software systems.
- To provide a single point of contact for end users to receive technical support.
- To deliver efficient, reliable IT services.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree in Information Technology (IT) or equivalent industry recognized certification(s). Applicable experience may be substituted in lieu of education/certification. Additional formal training in network operations, data routing, communications protocols (including, but not limited to: Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), Internet Protocol (IP), Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP), Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, and computer networking concepts) is recommended.
EXPERIENCE:
At least three (3) years' experience in the Information Technology industry. An additional two (2) years is required to acquire requisite skills.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
A complete understanding of Cooperative operations and how the IT systems contribute to the Cooperative's mission and benefit the end user. A detail functional knowledge of IT systems including personal computers, servers, peripherals, operating systems, smart phones, tablets and network switches. A working knowledge of how the Cooperative's IT systems interface and function together.
ABILITIES & SKILLS:
Ability to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot IT hardware. To install, setup and run various software packages. Capacity to operate and interpret different maintenance/monitoring software packages. Capability to apply proven decision making skills. Possess proficient analytical troubleshoot skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work will primarily be conducted inside. Some overtime required. Position requires regular on-call assignments. Irregular hours during emergencies will be required. Frequent local travel within the service territory and some overnight travel required.
