Senior IT Project Manager - Federal IT Services Acquisition

Position Description:
Location: Department of State Facilities, hybrid
Position Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and seasoned Senior IT Project Manager with over 10 years of experience in the federal IT sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex IT projects, specifically in the acquisition of IT services for federal agencies.
- Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality parameters. Provide strategic direction and guidance to cross-functional project teams.
- IT Services Acquisition
- Leverage extensive knowledge of federal acquisition processes to plan, procure, and implement IT services in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify requirements, conduct market research, and facilitate the acquisition of IT services that align with federal agency needs.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with federal clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment of project objectives with agency goals. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address concerns, resolve issues, and foster a collaborative project environment.
- Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges to ensure project success. Implement best practices in risk management to safeguard project outcomes.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Monitor financial aspects of projects, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT solutions that meet federal standards. Emerging Technology Investments
- Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: Over 10 years of proven experience in IT project management, with a focus on federal IT services acquisition.
- Certifications: PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Relevant federal acquisition certifications (e.g., FAC-C, or DITAP) are a strong asset.
- Skills: Competence in emerging technologies such as RPA and AI
- Strong understanding of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and related guidelines.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.
