OTA is seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in system engineering and cybersecurity concepts, with advanced knowledge equivalent to industry certifications. This role requires hands-on experience in designing, maintaining, and consulting on cybersecurity measures aligned with national standards. The ISSE will be responsible for ensuring system compliance, performing assessments, managing incidents, and staying ahead of emerging cybersecurity threats. Similar roles may include: Security Architect, Information Systems Security Developer, Cyber Defense Infrastructure, Support Specialist, Information Systems Security Manager, Security Control Assessor.

Responsibilities
- Apply professional-level knowledge of system engineering and cybersecurity methodologies
- Perform duties aligned with national cybersecurity standards: CNSSI 4009, NIST 800-37, NIST 800-160
- Create, draft, and maintain Security Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages
- Provide Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts, including: Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports (SARs), Security Controls Traceability Matrix (SCTM), Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM)
- Ensure systems meet Cybersecurity and Information Assurance standards and best practices
- Maintain and secure key network components, including: Endpoints, Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and Servers
- Assist in developing robust information security procedures aligned with industry best practices
- Provide consultation on Business/Mission Analysis, System Requirements, system Design/Architecture, Defense in Depth, Zero Trust, Domain Separation, and Disaster Recovery
- Support technical processes, including: Project Planning, Configuration Management, Risk Management, and Information Management
- Ensure correct implementation of technical security controls, including: Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting), VPN, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM), Security Patching
- Ensure all systems are effectively logging events for analysis
- Utilize Security Incident and Event Monitoring (SIEM) solutions for real-time monitoring and alerts
- Conduct system audits, vulnerability scans, and threat assessments
- Perform forensic analysis and anomaly detection to ensure network security
- Lead incident response activities to mitigate security breaches
- Conduct detailed investigations to identify vulnerabilities and assess damage
- Provide intelligence reports, malware reverse engineering, and detailed documentation
- Stay informed of emerging technologies, vulnerabilities, exploits, and hacker techniques
- Provide timely briefings and reports to leadership on new threats and security developments
- Train staff on the use of security policies, standards, and best practices
- Oversee security operations to ensure compliance with organizational cybersecurity goals
Required Qualifications
- Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or similar
- Associate Degree (STEM field) or approved equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of risk management framework experience within the last 5 years
