Information System Security Officer (ISSO)
We are seeking an energetic, self-starter to join our growing team to support our information security efforts.
The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) serves as the principal advisor on all matters related to system security. The ISSO is responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of security controls in accordance with the security plan and relevant security policies.
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Hours: Monday through Friday, (will need to be available all day from 8am-5pm)
Salary Range: $135,000 to $140,000 per year
Work location: Washington, DC Metropolitan area (some work from home may be allowed)
Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be able to obtain a DHS security clearance.
- Must be CISSP certified.
- Must have at least a bachelor's degree.
- Must have at least five (5) years of related experience within the last seven (7) years.

Job details:
Provide support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
Maintain operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed.
Assist with the management of security aspects of the information system and perform day-to-day security operations of the system.
Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.
Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation.
Provide configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
Manage changes to system and assess the security impact of those changes.
Prepare and review documentation to include Systems Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
A background check is required in order to obtain a security clearance.
