Information Security Technician
Oostburg, WI
You'll be responsible for monitoring and analyzing security events, identifying potential threats, and assisting in the implementation of security measures.
- Monitor and analyze security events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of security measures, controls, and policies.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Respond to security incidents and provide support during investigations.
- Collaborate with IT Team and cross-functional departments to enhance overall security posture and ensure security best practices are followed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity trends and best practices.
- Prepare and present security reports to management.
- Participate in security awareness training programs for employees.
- Support the IT Team in managing and maintaining security tools and technologies.
- Conduct research on emerging security threats and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
- Perform miscellaneous projects and tasks as requested by Information Security Analyst, Network Services Manager, and Vice President of Information Technology.
What You Can Offer
- Associate Degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related area, or equivalent work-related experience. Certifications in Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or Security+ preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an IT-related role, preferably with exposure to information security tasks. Experience with security incident response and handling preferred.
- Familiarity with security vulnerability scanning tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Basic understanding of network protocols and operating systems.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and industry standards.
- Knowledge of IT Security frameworks including NIST, ISO, SOC2, etc.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of routing protocols including TCP/IP concepts, configuration, and use including Cisco routing, switching, ISE, DNA Center, Stealthwatch, FirePower, and Umbrella.
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Window Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and SQL Server.
- Knowledge of anti-virus, content filtering, firewalls, certificates, authentication systems, intrusion detection, notification systems, security and network monitoring tools.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to work with end users in a courteous, patient, and professional manner.
- Must live within 30 miles of MGF facility to provide timely onsite resolution.
- Ability to work onsite at least 4 days/week.
