As an Information Design Lead, Vice President within our Commercial & Investment Bank, you will shape the future of user experience with strategic design initiatives that blend business needs and user insights. You will interpret and visually convey complex, unorganized and/or unstructured information into meaningful and valuable information designed for our employees, partners, and customers. This role provides an opportunity to showcase your broad information design experience and deliver simple and elegant illustrative graphics using multimedia and technologies.
This role requires an individual with broad information design experience who can deliver simple and elegant illustrative graphics using multimedia and technologies. A successful candidate will be well trained in technical illustration and design, possess an understanding of work flow and information design, and be known for having a good eye, elegant style and aesthetic values.
Job responsibilities
- Illustrating technical diagrams and creating graphics for Commercial & Investment Bank and services
- Designing effective video, websites, brochures and presentations, balancing clarity, relevance and timeliness to achieve business goals
- Publishing guidelines, ensuring technology-related design to reflect the J.P. Morgan brand and best practices
- Planning and leading a broad range of employee-experience design activities and recommending design solutions for all levels of technology management and stakeholders
- Prototyping and brainstorming, which may include hardware or software user interfaces and design methods
- Training and mentoring team members in employee-experience disciplines
- Develop and execute design/research strategies for complex projects and ensure alignment with business objectives and user needs across multiple product areas
- Diagram service flows and product features, design wireframes, and prototype interactions for key touchpoints as you lead end-to-end design initiatives within a specific domain.
- Role-model the adoption of inclusive design practices and accessibility guidelines, mentor junior designers and foster a culture of diversity and inclusion
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user experience design into the product development processes and ensure seamless and customer-centric solutions
- Analyze market trends, gather feedback from user research, and learn from data insights to inform design decisions and optimize user experiences across various platforms and channels
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in a senior illustrator capacity at a news media company, an interactive agency or design studio.
- Degree in graphic design, interaction design, user interface or interactive/interface design
- Experience with user interfaces, multimedia, editorial and brand design
- Disciplined self-starter with strong attention to detail and advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expert user of Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Strong communicator, critical thinker and generator of creative ideas
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team, with or without direction
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- A sophisticated sense of design with the ability to combine traditional as well as nontraditional elements such as animation, video and sound
- Experience working with a talented team, which includes an illustrator, user-experience designer/developer, writers and editors.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Design leadership or managerial experience
- Must have a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to guide the creative development of dynamic websites and related products
