ESC has an exciting opportunity for an Information Communication Technology (ICT) Design Engineer/Project Manager to work onsite in Arlington, VA supporting our premier client’s Cabling Infrastructure & Technology team. This is a growing and innovative global team that design and implements ICT infrastructure to support the client’s portfolio of corporate offices. For the AMER region we are seeking an exceptional individual with a successful track record and progressive career history in low voltage structured cabling, as a Design Engineer/Project Manager. This role will be office based on site in Arlington, VA, US for 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and starts as a 2-month contract opportunity, with potential to extend for a top performer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with the ICT design consultants and internal customers to standardize structured cabling and server room designs to accelerate delivery and lower cost across our portfolio of building launches. This role requires an experienced professional with a background in structured cabling and experience of generating designs as well as providing effective oversight. The Design Engineer/PM is expected to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive best practices and establish tools, and standards consistent with large corporate deployments. The candidate will be required to have more than a cabling background. It is expected they will also have a strong IT background with knowledge of other facets of an IT network, such as networking, WiFi, AV, Security, PDU, UPS and Smart Building technologies.

Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams to select Design Consultants & Low Voltage Contractors
• Identify and implement design opportunities to lower the cost to serve
• Review Request for Pricing and renegotiation of bids
• Update budget tracking tools
• Implement design best practice and standards to deliver construction ready designs
• Coordinate supply chain forecasts
• Flexibility to work with stakeholders in different time zones across AMER.
• Review Design Consultant weekly progress reports and host update meetings.
• Identify risks on critical path and provide resolution
• Support Vendor Manager with QBR by providing operational metrics
• Main POC for all internal customers for escalations, questions or recommendations of all aspects of the structured cabling and containment pathways
• Attending progress/room ready meetings online and collaborate with Quality Assurance team
• Develop, track, and report project metrics as necessary
Basic qualifications
• 4+ Years’ experience in delivery and coordinating corporate office fit outs from design concept through to deployment/construction and close out.
• 4+ years Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience.
• 4+ years of working experience with Audio Visual, WiFi, fiber optic components, copper cabling, and interconnect products, technologies, and standards.
• 4+ years of experience in Project Management.
Preferred qualifications
• BICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to simultaneously work and manage multiple projects, prioritize & consistently deliver results in ambiguous, complex, and fast-paced environment.
• Experience in communicating with end-users, technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, articulate features & technical designs.
