Responsibilities:
Infection Preventionist is a licensed nurse who is responsible for implementing and overseeing the infection prevention and control program in the long-term care setting. This role will monitor and track healthcare associated infections, antibiotic utilization, immunizations, and occupational health.
- Play an integral role as a member of the nurse management team making key decisions in resident care and management of staff.
- Member of the antibiotic stewardship and quality assurance improvement committees.
- Oversee the immunization program by monitoring, tracking, and reporting on healthcare associated infections and antibiotic use.
- Utilize your critical thinking skills to lead, assess, plan, and implement educational programs based on the needs of the facility staff and residents.
- Conduct infection control surveillance activities and audits to recommend infection control practices.
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted RN license or LPN with management experience.
- The Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training through the CDC (can be provided at this facility upon hire), or advanced training in infection prevention and control certification or
- Current BLS certification.
