Regency, A Villa Center is seeking an Infection Prevention Specialist LPN to join their team! Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Infection Prevention Specialist LPN assists with organizing and administering areas of Resident Care Services and infection prevention to attain person-centered care and the facility’s objective. Monitors to ensure that programs and procedures are developed to assess, evaluate, and meet the resident's needs.
Infection Prevention Specialist LPN Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implements standards of nursing practice in infection prevention reviewing and revising as necessary to reflect changes in nursing practice and resident population.
- Assists with the provision of nursing services 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
- Ensures clear, concise and current written policies and procedures are available to assist the staff and minimize risk factors infection prevention.
- Tracks and trends infections, antibiotic stewardship, hand hygiene, vaccinations (Influenza, Pneumococcal, and Covid)
- Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations
- Provides required resident assessments/observations and interventions, reviewing care plans to ensure appropriate care.
- Charts nurses notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided as well as the resident’s response to the care.
- Communicate/report information to residents, resident families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies, and facility personnel as required by facility policy and State/Federal guidelines.
- Ensures compliance with infection control standards. Immediately corrects/addresses identified instances of non-compliance.
- Follows and adheres to company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA compliance.
- All other duties, as assigned.
Infection Prevention Specialist LPN Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Serves as the expert in Infection Prevention.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.
- Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
Infection Prevention Specialist LPN Education and Experience:
- Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
- Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
- Long-Term care experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
