Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Services Group (CSG) is responsible for the development and implementation of projects within HCA’s Infection Prevention (IP) program and portfolio as well as the expansion of business processes and performance in related areas. This position will assist with the strategic direction, oversight and implementation of IP initiatives, projects and operational Initiatives.
The position is responsible for communicating and collaborating with Business Owners, IT&S, Supply Chain, Security, Human Resources, Internal Audit and external vendors to facilitate and ensure successful implementation and completion of projects as well as assist with ongoing operations related to Infection Prevention. Up to 20% Travel
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Proven operational skills in healthcare environments, expertise in acute care systems and/or complex large teaching healthcare institutions with ability to provide leadership, guidance and support for our customers
· Experience in executing successful projects across a continuum
· Strong collaborative partnerships with internal and external partners (i.e. leaders in medical staff, nursing, surgical team, EVS, supply chain, etc.) for team building to improve process
· Under the direction of the Chief Epidemiologist or designee, Infection prevention, capability to execute IP program initiatives across the system by:
1)Supervising, planning, implementing, and following up on efforts related to the service line initiatives.
2)Implementing strategic program to reduce infections
3)Interpreting IP regulations and recommending implementation strategies and approaches based on successful programs
4)Building a strong alignment with HCA Division Leaders of IP
5)Expertise in process improvement in the realm of HAI trended data/outcomes; expertise in the reduction/elimination of infection prevention risks
6)Capability to measure, analyze, improve and scale positive outcomes in partnership with quality and regulations team
7)Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
8)Proficient in consulting, teaching, preparing presentations for diverse groups and stakeholders
9)Utilization of evidence-based practice(s)
10)Ability to travel as needed to all facilities/ division offices
11)Ability to interact and collaborate with leadership at all levels
12)Can take action as appropriate with direction from AVP, Infection Prevention CSG/corporate teams

20)Ability to relate to medical, administrative, clinical and professional staff to facilitate quality/performance improvement and infection prevention and control activities.
21)Ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships and utilize team facilitation skills.
22)Knowledge of electronic medical record and surveillance software programs for data analysis and presentation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provides operationalization, and sustainment of a strong infection prevention program for HCA.
2.Creates a safe environment for all HCA entities, by integrating skills with expert knowledge.
Standards:
•Develop a standardized and consistent approach relating to Infection Prevention work efforts, implementation and operations
•Develop appropriate strategies, plans, tools and approaches to ensure successful implementation and operations
•Facilitate effective communications among all team members and leadership to ensure comprehensive understanding of needs, expectations and requirements
•Lead the development of various tools and documentation from a clinical perspective to ensure compliance with IP guidelines
•Lead the entire spectrum of project activities from planning, to detailed solution design to pilot and full roll-out and implementation
•Directs the development of the appropriate project documents, such as: project charter, plans, tools, and approaches to ensure successful implementation.
•Lead the creation of implementation toolkits for deployment across the enterprise in collaboration with the various project team members
•Organize a group of related projects, identifying interdependencies, major milestones, and deliverables, including program-level communication plans, resource plans, risks/issues, and general project controls.
•Serve as point of contact for all program escalations and communications between the business owners and partners.
•Develop a collaborative working environment with corporate departments, divisions, and facility leaders.
•Escalate to and collaborate with appropriate leadership on program issues and risks to identify solutions.
•Contribute information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; participate in project audits; identify trends; determine systemic improvements; and implement change.
•Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
•Research best-demonstrated practices in the field to be shared across the enterprise.
•Incorporates evidence-based healthcare practices in designing systems, tools, and processes
•Collaborates with other healthcare providers and vendors on latest technologies and systems
•Supports HCA vision and strategy with strategic partners and departments
•Collaborates with various stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure defined requirements comply with Laboratory regulations. Enhances the quality of the customer service provided by the pharmacy team to the patient healthcare community
•Continues to build and strengthen partnerships among Clinical Services Group, IT&S, Internal Audit, Human Resources, Ethics and Compliance, Labor Relations, Information Security and Privacy, etc.
•Manages division/group IP project managers to ensure alignment.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
•A bachelor’s degree is required, with 2-5 years of relevant healthcare (acute care) experience highly preferred.
•PMP certification preferred.
•Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills required.
•Possesses good organizational and presentation skills. Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills and experience required.
•Definitive analytical ability. Problem-solving is a required core competency.
•Demonstrated ability to influence and foster collaborative relationships with ability to engage resources outside of direct-control to gain consensus, meet deadlines and achieve goals and objectives.
