Job summary
The Industrial Mechanic II will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repairs of the Company’s manufacturing machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems. This individual will utilize their skillset to ensure all manufacturing equipment operates continuously as well as troubleshoot machine control panels including PLC’s, and relay logic.Responsibilities:
Quickly responds to service requests, production line calls and internal customer needs.
• Maintains production areas and ensures all inside and outside areas are free from debris and other hazards, providing a safe and clean working environment.
• Performs preventative maintenance activities on all plant equipment on a daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
• Implements and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production and maintenance reports.
• Performs routine maintenance and facility upgrades including electrical, lighting, plumbing, air compressors, and some HVAC equipment.
• Identifies reported and non-reported facility and production equipment issues; schedules and performs corrective actions as needed.
• Implements new ideas geared at reducing downtime and increasing productivity.
• Trains production workers in areas of equipment operation and routine preventive maintenance.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and responding to requests.
• Places supply orders as needed.
• Enforces Company safety policies to prevent employee accidents and injuries.
Requirements:
• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required
• Basic measuring capabilities using tape measures and digital calipers is required
• Experience with mechanical equipment repair is preferred
• Experience with electrical maintenance repair including low and high voltage equipment is preferred
• Welding experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of common power and hand tools is required
• Metal fabrication skills to repair, modify, and build fixtures and equipment are a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work an altered schedule as needed, to accommodate business needs
• Basic Math skills
• Problem solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office
